What is FlyAround?
FlyAround is a flight tracking and management platform for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020/2024 and X-Plane 11/12. It runs as a desktop app — on Windows, macOS and Linux — alongside your simulator and adds a full operations layer: flight planning, cargo/passenger loading, real-time position tracking, ATC communications, flight logging, and community features like group flights and live maps.
Who is FlyAround for?
FlyAround is designed for flight simulation enthusiasts who want more structure and realism. It suits:

- Virtual airline members who need scheduling and OFP tools
- Streamers who want a live HUD overlay for their audience
- Community pilots who fly in coordinated groups
Does FlyAround work with any aircraft add-on?
Yes. FlyAround works with any aircraft loaded in your simulator. You register your aircraft in the Hangar using the airframe type, airline livery, and tail number — it does not need to match a specific add-on package.
Do I need to be online to use FlyAround?
Yes. FlyAround requires an active internet connection for authentication, flight data sync, OFP generation, and the live map. The simulator itself can run offline, but FlyAround’s tracking and logging features require connectivity.
What simulator is supported?
FlyAround supports Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024 (via SimConnect, Windows) and X-Plane 11 and 12 (via the FlyAround Simulations Connect plugin — Windows, macOS and Linux). FSX and Prepar3D are not supported. The app communicates with your simulator in real time via a local backend service.
What platforms does FlyAround run on?
Windows 10/11, macOS, and Linux. On macOS and Linux the app connects to X-Plane through the FlyAround Simulations Connect plugin; MSFS connections are Windows-only. A few Windows/MSFS-specific options (PMDG SDK support, GSX Pro ground handling, in-flight screenshots) are hidden on macOS/Linux where they don’t apply.
Is FlyAround free?
There’s a free FlyAround Community edition with the core flight-ops toolkit (dispatch, tracking, logbook, hangar, live map). The full edition offers a free trial, after which a subscription is required for:
- Flight Calendar and scheduling
- Group Flights
- AI Assistant and push-to-talk voice
- AI Voice Experience (realistic crew voices)
- Live streaming to YouTube / Twitch

What are AI credits?
AI-powered features — realistic crew voices, AI checklists, push-to-talk speech recognition, ATC voice — draw from a monthly AI Credits allowance included with your plan. A meter on your Profile page shows what’s left and when it renews, and you can buy top-up credits that never expire. When credits run out, crew voice falls back to the standard voice and AI checklists pause until renewal. See AI Assistant.

How do I update FlyAround?
FlyAround checks for new versions automatically on launch. If an update is available, a notification appears with release notes and a download link.
Can I use FlyAround while streaming?
Yes. Configure the streaming overlay under Settings → Overlay and capture the overlay URL as a browser source in OBS or Streamlabs. The overlay displays your live flight data for viewers.
